G.V.H.S.S Cherpu , Thrissur district



                                    The golden feather in the gown of Cherpu, Govt. Vocational and Higher Secondary school, The Lead school of Thrissur The cultural capital of Kerala, the country of Poorams, Thrissivaperur. From the heart of this town, nearly 11 k.m. situated Cherpu Grama panchayath. In this Cherpu Grama panchayath, from Perumbillissery centre through Kodungallur-Triprayar main road nearly 100 metre, there we can see the buildings of G.V.H.S.S. Cherpu & our Gramodharanam school. The giver of Vidhya, Sri Thiruvullakkavu Dharmasastha, blesses this school each and every time because the school faces this Temple of Sri Dharmasastha. 
              In 1934 Mahatma Gandhi came to Kerala for the upliftment of Harijans. During that time he reached Cherpu Mekavu Kshethra Ground (17/01/1934) and deliver a speech. This ground now known as 'Mahatma Maidan' and there is a 'Gandhi Mandapam' which is built in 1948.
